Day 1 post op

Dr. Aoki did a  wonderful job on my hip surgery yesterday. I am very grateful to work with such stellar individuals. Now the recovery begins. 4 weeks on crutches and taking it easy for a while.  Looks like I will be crafting, cross stitching, veging in front of the tv, etc. this will be kind of hard but fun all together.

New Arrival

Brynlyn Diane McDonald, my niece, was born on Monday 5/12/14. I went to the hospital yesterday to see her and Haylie and Brandon.  She is adorable.  It is very fun to have new babies around.  Then come July we will have another niece/nephew coming.  Love being an Auntie!!!

Love spring cleaning

So in honor of my friend Blakelee I am renewing my efforts of communicating with the world and documenting my life.

Spring is so beautiful. Bruce and I spent quite some time yesterday out in the yard pulling out bushes, cutting down the peach tree that was sick and dyeing, weeding the garden and picking up the yard. I was going tooled pictures as evidence but I am having issues with the iPad.

Picture Perfect

Blakelee, my good friend, started this picture of the day challenge and I am playing a copy cat...to some extent.  I have been takin a few pictures here and there just trying to capture the beauty that is around me.

Trees and flowers outside of work. I thought they were rather pretty.

Last night's sunset from my back yard. See Bruce's beautiful new fence that he has finished.

Lately

Here are a few projects that I have been working on over the last few weeks.  I haven't been much for typing because our computer is on the fritz once again. Maybe for Christmas we will get ourselves a new computer.

Bruce finished refencing the back yard and the pasture. We put gates up on Saturday and I am very impressed. It looks so good. We did learn a few things along the way. Also, Truck #9 came to our house last week.  I keep joking that we don't have pets or kids, we have trucks. This is another Dodge Cummins Navy Blue with a Gray stripe at the bottom.

Nothing else too exciting has been happening. I did go with Julie, my friend from work, to the University of Utah vs UCLA football game. It started to rain at the half so we left (also it was 10:00 p.m. and we had to work the next day).

Going to meet with the Bishop tonight...looks like a calling is in the works :)

Sunday---"Ox In the Mire"

Yesterday, Mom and I had the chance to watch Emma, Eli, and Maylee for the day. We were "naughty" and due to the not planned adventure we ended up doing rather random stuff for a Sunday.

1- New clothes to wear for the day bought at Target. Pajama's left in the car

2- Lunch was courtesy of Wendy's.

3- Movie watched at the theater...Despicable Me 2. It was hilarious. I was laughing so hard that it was mostly wheezing. I swear it must be a family thing because we were all laughing more than anyone in the theater.

4- Dinner and outside play time at my house for a bit.

In the end we were all tired and cranky and I needed a time out more than anyone else.  Thanks to my wonderful husband for grilling our food for dinner!

Visitors

Celeste, Jason, Kaylee, Caleb, and little Paige came to visit us for a week.  Jason's sister Janelle was getting married so they drove out from California to see us.  We loved having them here for the visit.  The kids are too cute and I feel bad because I didn't get to spend as much time with them as I would have loved to.  One night we had a picnic on Mom's back deck.  It was wonderful food. Kaylee and Emma sponsored a raffle of prizes, which they then won back for themselves. We had a good laugh about it.
