Random Ramblings

It is amazing that the only time I schedule off from work lately has been to be "ill." I have degenerative disc disease in my cervical vertebrae along with the other multitude of problems....no big surprise. I keep wondering what exactly the point of this whole process is but then I get a little too self focused and have trouble keeping myself going.

Today was epidural injection #2. I had one about 4 weeks ago and they use a fluoroscopic technique to inject you with localized cortisone to the inter-vertebral discs that are causing trouble. I have to take the day off work and stay down, not that I mind taking time off from work, but I really need to take time off work to play to do something fun....not to go to the doctor for a little torture. Truthfully it isn't too painful. I have had an epidural catheter once for a week and it was much more painful because the thing was in there for so long and also because they don't numb you as well as they do during this procedure.

After the injections I spend the day with Kaylee and Celeste. Kaylee always asks if my ouchy in my neck is better. Today she said, "Aunt Blondie, did the Shrek doctor give you some medicine for your neck?" The Shrek doctor, who I work with, is the one who glued her shut when she cut her leg open last month on the cheese grater when she fell of the counter while helping Celeste make dinner. I see a completely different doctor at a different office but she is still remembering the Shrek doctor because he was nice and didn't give her any pokie's.

The last injection went well, but today I don't feel so hot. I don't know what my problem is but then again I cannot be a textbook case, per the usual forte. Anyways, it snowed again today and I am hoping for a great change in weather so that we can officially appreciate Spring and I can do a little yard work.

Life...again

Wow, what a grand time I have been having with life in general. Can you feel the sarcasm just dripping off of each word that I have written. Last night I had a minor melt down at work because I have been overly stressed but I am continuing to plug onwards. Hopefully in the near future I can actually decide what I want to be when I grow up. In the mean time, I will grin and bare it and hopefully something might hit me upside the head.

Can I take it home with me??

Kaylee and I went out for a walk after Conference and we came across the neighbors kitties. Kaylee proceeded to want to pet each cat and then after a bit she asked, "Aunt Blondie, can we take the kitties home wif us?" I had to explain to her that the families that owned the kitties would be terribly sad if we took the kitties because they would be soo lonely and not have any friends to cuddle with. Her response was the usual, serious "Oh." However as we turned to come home one of the kitties followed us. Kaylee then had to tell the kitty that she was not going in the house because she is not our kitty. It is amazing how her mind is so logical at 3 1/2 years of age.

Belated Easter

For Easter we went to Granny Mace's house and ate a wonderful dinner. Nothing too exciting happened after that but Kaylee and I put on a performance on our makeshift stage.
