Belated Easter

For Easter we went to Granny Mace's house and ate a wonderful dinner. Nothing too exciting happened after that but Kaylee and I put on a performance on our makeshift stage.

Easter Prep

After work today I went over to 'Granna's House' and we had our little adventure of dying the easter eggs. Kaylee quickly became the expert and would swirl the eggs at the top of the cup and then allow them to drop gently to the bottom. Once we were finished we noticed that the majority of the eggs happened to be pink and purple, no suprise. Pink and purple are Kaylee's favorite colors and she doesn't want to share these with anyone. I tried to convince her that my favorite is purple. She said that I could share blue with Daddy but not purple with her. How kind.

Latest happenings...

It is amazing what you can accomplish with a little insomnia going on. I pieced this quilt for my friend Kellen who is due to have her baby any day. I have been having a hard time sleeping at night and instead of laying around waiting for sleep to come I get up and do something like this or the other night I did laundry and cleaned the basement.

What a Treasure Hunt

Last Saturday while Celeste and Jason were at the temple, Kaylee and Mom came over to my house and we went on a treasure hunt in my basement. I had bought a few things and randomly hid them around the basement. Then I drew up a map of the rooms and drew little X’s where the treasures were located. This was just another way to keep a 3 year old entertained. Then we followed our adventure with the showing of the feature film…something about dancing with Strawberry Shortcake.

I love to think of new ways to entertain Kaylee. When I told the girls at work what my plans were one of them, Jane who has 2 children of her own, responded, “Catherine, you need kids.” I laughed and then replied that there were a few important steps that need to come first be for I jump the gun and run for having babies. First, a miracle must occur and I need to date. Second, I eventually need to get married. Then, I can think about having children. Keep each item in its dually noted position and things will be great!

Life...

Well, over the last month I have had quite a bit of time to think in a midst the school, work, and other things on the schedule. One of the things that has happened and has been rather poignant is the passing of Jessica's mother last month. She was extremely ill and the Lord blessed her with the relief from the pains of the world. I find that there is great peace in knowing that we have a loving Heavenly Father looking out for us and keeping us in line.

On a lighter note....I have made a new best friend. Her name is Indiana Coyle. She is almost 2 years old and we had a great time entertaining each other for a couple days in a row. It is amazing how much I love to keep children entertained.

Hopscotch

Can I tell you how much fun it is to be creative. Kaylee loves to play hopscotch, which usually consists of jumping around on her bed. However, one night she said, "Aunt Blondie lets play hopscotch." Since it was snowy outside and really cold I got it into my head to take some painters tape and make us a hopscotch grid.
